The reigning Lord of Clyro, also Lord Spiritual of Mercia, His Lordship Richard I, has operated in non-regal affairs with the pseudonym of ‘Richard of Burnham’ for several months. However, as of last night, on the 8th February, the pseudoynym has been changed to ‘Richard Hytholoday’. While M. Hytholoday will still be referred to by his regnal titles in most Mercian and Clyran politics, his political career in the Sorrenian Federation and other nations will be marked by this name change.
The name ‘Hytholoday’ originates from ‘Hythloday’, after the surname of the adventurer Raphael Hythloday in Saint Thomas More’s work ‘Utopia’. ‘Hythloday’ itself comes from the Greek for ‘peddler of nonsense’, which, coming from the context of St Thomas’ fictitious paradise, and Micronationalism’s own simulationist and secessionist idealism, suits the role of a pseudonym perfectly.
