On January 19th, 2015, rebellion came to the Glorious Micronation of Uberquiesenberg, a country situated in Essex, England, with some claims mere metres away from the established territory of the Region of Clyro. This civil unrest followed reforms instigated by the Uberquiesenbergian Kaiser, HIM Callum Newton I, and his Loyalist Party government, to dis-establish the democratic legislature of the Glorious Micronation and the instilling of a monarchical autocracy under the Kaiser. This move was joined simultaneously by the Kaiser dissolving the military of Uberquisenberg for fears of opposition from its soldiery, who were primarily card-holding members of the People’s Democratic Party (the official opposition party of Uberquiesenberg) and the Bobland Independence Party (a fringe regionalist party seeking independence of a holding of the Uberquiesenbergian Crown). Former Field Marshall Alejandro Whyatt-Miranda, leading elements of the dissolved Armed Forces, declared that the Kaiser’s reign was against the traditions of the Uberquiesenbergian people, and was therefore illegitimate, threatening to dethrone him.
The troubles in Uberquiesenberg caused a great many strategic issues for the Kingdoms & Lands Represented in the Council of the Diarchal Crowns of the Disciples (Mercia). Firstly, the issue was that insurrection was occurring within a territorial neighbour previously thought secure, which caused a security issue. The next issue was that both Kaiser Newton and Field Marshall Whyatt were (and still are) Barons of the Mercian Parliament House, which could have led to the voicing of sectarian views within the hallowed halls of that House. Finally, both the leaders of the Uberquiesenberg Government and the Rebels contacted Lord Spiritual of Mercia, HL Richard I, asking for support in the conflict, presenting the Lordly Diarchy of Mercia with a moral quandary; both the Kaiser and the Field Marshall are great friends of the Lords.
Luckily, a resolution was decided on January 20th, with the Treaty of Essex proposing a two-state solution to the rebellion, which had mixed results for both the Government and Rebel forces of Uberquiesenberg. The Rebels formed a nation called ‘The United Provinces of the Dengie’ (UPD), which included about 65% of Uberquiesenberg’s territory, all within 2 kilometres of the northern bank of the River Crouch, where the claims of the Region of Clyro are also situated. The Uberquisenberg Government maintained the territory further north, on the southern bank of Lawling Creek, a tributary of the River Blackwater. However, many citizens of Uberquiesenberg, situated either in the southern claims or resident to the United Kingdom territories in between, declared for Kaiser Newton, meaning that the UPD has a far smaller government. Ironically, the UPD is run autocratically under Field Marshall Whyatt, who holds absolute power, while Kaiser Newton still allows advisory assistance from his citizens and the new Armed Forces, the Loyalist Armed Police Force of Uberquiesenberg (LAPFU).
The Treaty of Essex also states that no conflict may occur between Uberquiesenberg and the UPD until the 20th June 2015. It was signed by Field Marshall Whyatt on behalf of the UPD, and Kaiser Newton, Lord-General Cattell and Colonel Ponder on behalf of the Uberquiesenberg Government and LAPFU.
Mercia now is posed by the threat of a rogue state and potential military aggressor (the UPD) on its borders, and as such, discussion will occur in Parliament about the position of the Clyran Defence Office and the Clyran Constabulary Office, which have been inactive for a lengthy period of time, calling into question their effectiveness in times of defence or civil unrest.

Down with those Clyran scallywags!
Long live the the Glorious Micronation of Uberquiesenberg!
Oi, there is no war twixt Uberquiesenberg and Clyro, you dafty! 😛
