Region of Clyro: Duke Kennedy appointed First Minister of Mercian Parliament House!

Baron Joseph Kennedy (known formerly in the Regional Dominion of Burnham as Sar/Comrade Joseph Kennedy, known to Ashukovo as Prince Joseph of Montania) has been a major driving force in Clyro’s past; creating the Council of People’s Commissars, being elected as leader of the Theodorist Worker’s Party of Burnham, and holding the famous second Supreme Soviet Gorsedh of the 25th July 2013. Upon the occurrence of the Clyro Reforms, Comrade Kennedy was awarded for his service with a Dukedom, and a place in the Mercian Parliament House, the legislative body of Clyro.

At 2:34PM GMT on the 25th January 2014, HL Richard I, by the Grace of God, Lord of Mercia offered Duke Kennedy the position of First Minister, whereby he would chair the Mercian Parliament and collaborate with the Lord on the instigation and maintenance of Clyran projects, laws and so forth. The Duke’s reply was an instantaneous acceptance of HL Richard I’s offer.

The Lord then presented the following decree to the Mercian Parliament House:

Decree of His Lordship Richard I, by the Grace of God, Lord of Mercia:

1. Duke Kennedy is to be appointed First Minister of the Mercian Parliament House, effective immediately.

2. The Mercian Parliament House is to become a direct-democratic body, where majority votes will pass or fail a motion. The Lord’s word is still law in Clyro, however.

3. Point 2 of this Decree (the above point) will be revoked upon the ratification of the Mercian Constitution.

In other news, Sebastian Schriber, the President of Ashukovo (to be inaugurated at 10:00PM GMT on the 25th January) has also been appointed as an Earl of Clyro, and has been admitted into the Mercian Parliament House. Earl Schriber has assisted in the planning of the transition of the Clyran State from it’s Burnhamite forbear.

Finally, the mild weather in Clyro has been interrupted by a barrage of strong winds, lashing rain and even distant thunder. The evening of the 25th, starting at about 4:45PM GMT, was disturbed by heavy downpour and strong gusts as the winter darkness set in. The strong winds have mildly affected the electrical connections from the Capital Parish of Saint’s Rest to the local substation in the United Kingdom, although no power outages have as of yet occurred.
