‘The Ashukov Relation to the Amatine Legacy’ is the first textbook written for U of A by the new Head of Micronational History, Professor Richard Cunningham, otherwise known as Basileus Justinian I.

On the 7th January 2014, HSM Justinian I, Basileus of the Dominion, was appointed the Head Professor of the Micronational History Department in the University of Ashukovo, the premier educational institute in the Ashukov Federation. This move is one of many in plans to unite the former nations of the Confederate States of Prosperity and their successors through culture. In addition, an organisation known as the ‘League of Prosperity’ has sprung up, with the Wuertige Empire, the Ashukov Federation, the Kingdom of Wyvern and the Empire of Adammia acting as its founding members. Although Adammia and Wyvern were not members of the Confederate States, both are led by experienced and respected Micronationalists that have expressed interest in the project. Invitations to join the League will also be sent out to the Union of Libereco, the Commonwealth of Hobartstown & Victoria, and the Kingdom of New Israel, all of which have gone on their own paths following the end of the Confederate States.

The textbook (cover shown above) is predicted to be approximately twenty-two pages long, and will cover the history and features of the Confederate States of Prosperity, the Confederation of St Luke and Amager, and the Ashukov Federation, proving and providing the historical links between them, and relating Ashukovo to the other Confederate and Amatine successor nations. The textbooks will be sponsored by the National Party of Ashukovo, as Justinian, under his non-regnal name of Richard Cunningham, is a citizen of the Ashukov State of the Principality of Montania, under National Party leader, Prince Joseph Kennedy.

The textbook, along with additional revision material, is expected to be published in late February 2014, but the Basileus has stated that it definitely won’t be the only textbook to come from the Department of Micronational History:

“The ‘Ashukov Relation’ textbook will not be the only textbook that I will write for U of A. Already planned is a textbook on Robert Lethler and his role in the Microwiki Community, as he was such a strong individual in the community that he has left indelible marks upon it to this day. Following that, a history of either Austenasia and the Carshalton sector or a history of St Charlie is on the cards for sure, as the two are both colossal first-names in the Micronation.org community.”

In other news, the Grand Unified Micronational’s (GUM) request for the Wuertige Empire to decide on it’s membership numbers (whether it would acquiesce and reduce its number of full memberships from three to one) was rebuked publicly in the Quorum of Delegates on the 5th January. Evidence of activity in all three major Autonomous Member States was shown, and both the Wuertige Emperor Arthur I and Prince Joseph of Ashukovo provided statements to defend the Empire’s stance on the matter. It is expected that the Wuertige Empire’s position in the GUM will not be questioned again during the term of currently incumbent Chairman, Ciprian I of Juclandia. There has been a level of tension between Ashukovo and Juclandia in recent weeks after Ashukov citizen, Hasan Cakar, was discovered to have been vandalising the Micronation.org wiki and the Microwikia, both major collections of Micronational data, and was subsequently treated to racist, Islamophobic slurs from the GUM Chairman. The article from Ashukovo’s primary newspaper, the Ašukovski Vesti, has covered the situation further at: https://ashukovskivesti.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/vandalism-and-islamophobia/
