The Order of the Nebra Disk was formed in the days of the Independent Daenningas Regional Dominion of Burnham & their Lands (IDRDB&L) in mid-1012, a time when HSM Justinian I, Basileus of the Dominion, operated under his birth name of Richard Cunningham as First Consul in a theoretically direct democratic nation. However, with no Constitution and next to no laws, then-First Consul Cunningham ruled absolutely. The Order of the Nebra Disk was a result of this absolutism; an organisation dedicated to the research of early Paganism in Burnham’s holdings and the areas surrounding them.
The organisation was inactive almost as soon as it was created; within days the First Consul and the rest of the Consulate had forgotten the Order, with First Consul Cunningham going on the lead the Confederate States of Prosperity in its first and only presidency. So forgotten was the Order of the Nebra Disk, that it never received further mention in the IDRDB&L, and was never reconsidered during the pre-Emergency days of the Theodorist Regional Dominion of Burnham & its Land.
It is only now, that as Burnham prepares to form a Diarchy with the Noble Republic of Lurk*, that the Order of the Nebra Disk has come into use again. The First Consul, and by result the Basileus of Burnham, held the title of Head Researcher of the Order of the Nebra Disk. Therefore, the Order is still valid to be made part of the Theodorist state in Burnham. Under the emergency powers of Basileus Justinian I, the Order of the Nebra Disk has been reformed as the State Culture Service (SCS).
The original aims and objectives of the Order of the Nebra Disk were as follows:
The Order of the Nebra Disk has a series of aims for its Micronational Mission. These aims are:
1. Have the Order of the Nebra Disk involved in multiple Micronations, majorly or minorly.
2. Create celebrations and/or state holidays of the Summer and Winter Solstices in every Micronation the Order of the Nebra Disk is involved in.
3. Research and search for ley-lines in the Dengie Peninsula, Essex, England.
4. Engage in modernised sacred rites that were involved in ancient mining procedure in all Micronations with an Order of the Nebra Disk presence.The Order of the Nebra Disk will actively pursue an agenda of Neolithic religious understanding (the original document used the word ‘science’ in place of ‘understanding’, which has since been deemed controversial), for scientific, physical, cultural, historical, archaeological and theological reasons and motives.
The new demands of the SCS are as follows:
1: Repeal aims 1 and 4 of the Order of the Nebra Disk.
2: Continue aims 2 and 3 of the Order of the Nebra Disk
3: Take the Constructed world project of Vona and it’s constitutent Constructed nations and peoples under Regal authority and the authority of the People’s Commons.
4: Will continue agenda of Neolithic religious understanding for the above stated reasons, and will also extend to agendas of Celtic and Druidic religious understanding, as well as an agenda of Christian religious understanding.
The Constructed world of Vona has been a pet project of the Justinian I’s for several weeks, and His Socialist Majesty has decided that, with the threat of the Wurtige Empire being reduced in membership size in the Grand Unified Micronational still looming due to claims of ‘inactivity’, the addition of another semi-active project of the Basileus will show that the Dominion is far from inactive indeed.
The SCS will most likely be renamed and reorganised following the merger with the Noble Republic of Lurk, as will many other state organisations and Gorsedhs within Burnham. The name of the nation is also to be reconsidered when it becomes a centralised client territory of the Diarchy (the same fate will befall Lurk’s land, most likely). The name ‘Clyro’ is looking to be a frontrunner in the naming stakes.
*The Eternal Empire of New Winterdown has since pulled out of proposals to merge into a new nation, instead remaining as an Autonomous Member State (AMS) of the Wuertige Empire. The new Diarchy will do this also, once formed.
